ANOTHER MAGNIFICENT EFFORT - i £18,528 FOR A PHOTOGRAPH ' (Special.—By Telephone.) Fcatherston, July 1. At a patriotic concert which was held at Fcatherston this evening in aid of the Wairarapa Fund for our Sick and Wounded Soldiers, an enlarged photograph of the Trenthatn camp was ottered at auction, and realised the magnificent sum of £18,528. Messrs. William Hume, George Hume, D. H. S. Riddiford, J. 0. Bidwill, W. E. Bidwill, George Pain, and Mrs. J. Donald, each bid £1000, and several others offered bids of £500 each. The photograph was eventually purchased by the Hon. Sir Walter Buchanan, M.L.Q., and presented to the Fcatherston Public Library'.
