OUR OPPORTUNITY.
(To the Editor.) ' Sir,— I The wet and cold spell which met the men recently drafted to camp from comfortable home surrouudings js without doubt resixmsible for the abnormal sick list at Trentham. The serious position can most adequately be met by restoring the men so adversely affected by the radical change to home conditions again for a Bhort.period. A great opportunity is opened to the people of Wellington to do a kindly turn for many families in distant parts of the Dominion. Since-so magnificent a response has been made to the appeal fcr funds for the benefit of the future wounded, this opportunity -for doing something practical for those, who have placed their lives at our service will bo whole-heartedly welcomed. Gladly will homes be opened to men who may be able to accept the offer. Naturally the suggestion applies especially to those with severe cold troubles who would bo passed by the medical officers. Will the authorities sanction the carrying out of this proposal?—l am, etc., M.
