FIRES
' OUTFITTER'S SHOP GUTTED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Pahiatua, June 30. Shortly before 6 o'clock to-night a fire was discovered in Joyes Bros., men's outfitters' shop, in the Main Street. The shop was gutted. The stock is. insured for over £500. Mr. Joyes estimates the loss at a good amount. The adjoining tea-room, kept by the Misses Harris, was _ affected by smoke and water. There is a small insurant on the stock. Both buildings are owned b.y Messrs. Staples Company.
