Wellington £>outli section of the National Reserve paraded about 100 strong last night, and made an excellent slimv as the men inarched through Newtown headed by tlio drum and band. On arriving at the grounds the company 'was split ,up into three platoons, and an excellent work was put in under ;he supervision <.f Sergeant-Major Martin. ■ Captain Thring is lecturing to Reserve men at the NewtownLibrary on Thursday . evening, .the subject of his address being "Coast defence and the probable effect of the present war on coastal fortifications." Major _C. B. Morifon, K.C., will take the chair at the : scfcure ( and as the lecture is specially des'.gr.cu to interest and instruct lloservo men, a large attendance is expected. .
