NORWEGIAN BARQUE CIS

CREW STILL GIVING TROUBLE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, June 29. The orew of the Norwegian barque Cis refused duty this morning when the vessel was ready to be towed to sea. Four of the crew—two Russians, one Belgian, and one Norwegian—were recently charged at the Police Court with being absent without leave. They told the magistrate they were unwilling to sail with the ship, as she was bound to Glasgow with niokel ore, which is contraband, and it was extremely likely the vessel would be attacked by submarines. The Court decided it had no jurisdiction over the men. The police were called this morning and remained on the barque while the captain went ashore to engage another crew, and it is understood the men alleged to be the ringleaders will be brought before the Court to-morrow.
