Sydney, June 18. •Captain Bean (official correspondent with the Australian Forces) writes:— "One of the most remarkable qualities of the Australian and New Zealand troops during the first three days was the many men, living in trendhes a quarter of a mile away from the nearest officer', taking commands from some corporal ot sergeant, who rose to the occasion and took control with complete confidence.
