THEIR DISPOSAL

RESOLUTIONS BY PATRIOTIC SOCIETY,. The Patriotic Society passed the following resolutions last evening:— (1) That we support the proposal to federate with the various patriotic societies. throughout New Zealand with, the idea, of (a) agreeing upon a uniform system of relief; (b) preventing overlapping and waste- expenditure and energy in administration of funds; (c) helping , by monetary grants tho6B districts which are unable to help themselves; and (d) take .whatever action is deemed advisable for the carrying out of tho objects for which the money was subscribed; (e) to take .whatever action is necessary to bring about the formation of a Patriotio Fund on the lines originally suggested by thi6 society. (2) That number (1) resolution being carried it is. agreed to call a conference of all the patriotic societies and Mayors and ohairmen of local bodies, or' their deputies, of the Wellington province at the earliest possible moment in order to (a) agree to the establishment of a Wellington Provincial Fund for the benefit of our wounded soldiers and sailors and their dependants on-" the lines already agreed upon,, wo placing the net results of the present Queen Carnival into such a fund; (h) elect trustees and on executive to the funds, such executive to be representative of the province, the districts and numbers elected to the .executive to be depidfxj' by the' conference; (o) give .power to the ex» ecutive to appoint its own chairman, and to appoint comjnittees in .any : town in the province to administer funds, to a limit agreed upon, in cases of urgency, such committees to report to the executive oil all matters required by that body; (d) that the Mayor of Wellington should be asked to call a- conference for 2 p.m. on June 25, at the Town Hall, and that Mr. 0. P. Sberrett. K.C., and Sir John Findlay, E.G., should be asked to "attend to advise tha conference.
