TROUBLE FACES NEW BRITISH CABINET
OVER IRISH APPOINTMENTS (Rec. June 10, 0.25 a.m.) London, June 9. Mr. Campbell's appointment- to tho Irish Justice Department continues to cause anxiety in the Cabinet. It is understood that the Liberals would offer Mr. Campbell an English judgeship, but Sir Edward Carson intimated that if tho appointment wero cancelled to appease the Nationalists ho himself would be obliged to resign, and other Unionists might follow. The Unionists point out that Mr. Asquith definitely offered Mr. Campbell the office. Tho Liberals hold all tlio other Irish Ministerial appointments, and if Mr. Campbell is not appointed the Unionists will have no direct shave iu the Irish Government. Tho Nationalists have informed Mr. Asquith that if ho persists they will maire tho course of tho Coalition Government impossible in the House -of Commons.
