AT TRENTHAiiI A SUCCESSFUL GATHERING I I I t A most successful sports gathering i was hold on the Trontliam racocourso 1 yesterday by the members of the Now 1 Zealand Expeditionary Force now in j camp. Fully six or seven thousand , fcrooi>ers were present as spectators, or ] took part in the meeting, while there j. woro some hundreds of visitors from t town, including Their Excellencies Lord ] and Lad.y Liverpool and the Hon. i James Allen (Minister of Defence), and His Worship the .Mayor and Mrs. Luke, t Besides the conventional events, there g were several of thoso unique and inter- i esting contests usually associated with t military sports.
