WATHI REEFS GIGANTIC. The mine manager of tho Waihi Keefs Gigantic Consolidated, Ltd., reports as follows on the work at the mine during tho past week*.—The contract-or for driving crosscuts at 1000 feet level h<i6 extended the north face 22 feet aud tho S.E. face 19 feet, mailing the distance driven for tho week 41 feet. In the north end the country has been changeable, and we have apparently cut out of the hard black rock, tho face being now in grey, jointy country, intermixed with eoft silica veins, and the . distance out from shaft is 476 feet. In the S.E. end the country has changed to a firgi nature, hard to blast, but not unfavourable for the existence of quartz lodes. This face is now out 388 feet from starting point at "chamber, and in the estimated. line of the Royal reef. All machinery is running well.
