Soles:—Waihi, 395. 3d.; Northern Coal, 65.; Auckland Gas, 295. 6d. WAIHI-PAEHOA CO. Auckland, May 28. For the four-weekly period ended May 22 the Waihi-Pa-eroa. Gold Extraction Company, Ltd., treated 13,400 tons of tailings for a return of £3200. \ Tho company has now won £134,761 from the treatment of 433,600 tons of tailings. WAIHI REEFS-GIGANTIC. Reporting for the past week, the •• mine manager of tho Waihi Reefs Gigantic Company says:—Tho progress made by contractor for crosscuts in the 1000 ft. lovel is 20ft. in the north and 17ft. in 60uth-east face; toto.l for week, 37ft. During the week wo nave passed from the hard black country in the north face, to a milder class of country containing a good percentage of' bright mineral, and these two belts are divided by a cross-coursc of very mild country spme six feet in width, bringing about quite a change in tho face.- The total distance out from the shaft in tho worth, end is 454 feet and the south-east end 369 ft. In the south-cast faco the country maintains a first-class appcaranco, and is very favourable for the existence of quartz lode.
