M. VENIZELOS
HIS RETURN TO POWER. London, May 13. Tho return to power of M. Venizelos, the ex-Prime Minister of Greece, is openly suggested. Tho triumph of his policy is admitted.—("Times"- and Sydney "Sun" Servioos.) A "Daily Mail" correspondent in Athens had an interview recently with M. Venizelos, tho eminent Greek statesman, who resigned the Premiership of Greece because the Crown refused to act on his insistent advico that Greece should actively support the . Allies against Turkey. Aske'd what course he would pursue when ho returned again with an increased majority, M. Venizelos replied: "I sball do the only possible thing, that is, continue the policy to which I am bound." He added with energy, "What I foar is that when I am returned to power -the opportunity will Rave been lost, never to recur. That is the question. Time is passing; will tlioro still be time?"
Asked if thoro was any hope of the present Government changing its policy in respect of the maintenance of neutrality, M. Venizelos declared that he would, in such a case, give the Government all the support and assistance which lay in his power, and that office was nothing to him if his effort for Greece succeeded, but he again repeated that time is passing, and that opportunity iwiU not wait.
AVccil what message could be sent from him to the British people, he ronlitflare bound to the British nation by ties of gratitude, and,<"-what is in some cases still stronger, by ties common interest. We do not compare ourselves with England. Wo have ntf pretensions to world empire, but our interests in this part of the globe are identical. We should always march hand-in-hand with England, for liar successes or failures—if such bo possible—will always bo reflected in us. We should bo with England heart and sou] in all her undertakings in this region."
