EMPIRE BILLIARD PARLOUR

To-night there will open in Wellington one of tho most up-to-date billiard parlours in Australasia. As is fitting for a neiv enterprise of . the kind, the parlour lias been named the Empire Billiard Parlour, and it is centrally situated in Manners Street, in Anninw's Buildings, opposite the New Zealander Hotel. There , are eight tables,' built specially to the, design of the proprietor, the legs and fittings being of solid oak. The design of the woodwork of 'the tables is unique, and much more attractive than the old stylo, while special care has also been taken in the preparation of the cushions and pcckets, to ensure the tables being true to angle. All the furniture in the parlour is new, and made of oak, to match tho tables, so that the whole presents a delightfully attractive : appearance, not usually to be found in a billiard parlour. The walls are well lined with pictures, and easy chairs are provided for the use of patrons. That most important feature, tho lighl.ing, has been well looked after, and large arc lights are suspended over iho tables, and these throw a. perfect light, without permitting any shadow. Billiard players will also be pleased at the room provided between tho tables, so that there is no danger of two plavers at different tables colliding. Tho rooms are now open to inspection, and there should be a good attendance at tho opening to-night. Dairy Factory Managers should get particulars of the celebrated Victor Chctso Vat.
