Mails for Tonga, Samoa, and Fiji. also Nine Island (via Suva), close at Auckland, per Atua, on Monday, May 3, at 8.45 p.m. Mails for Australian States and South Africa, also Honolulu, Fanning Island, Canada, United States of America, Central America, United States of Colombia, Ecuador, Venezuela, British, Dutch, nnd French Ciuiana, United Kingdom, and Continent of Europe close at Auckland, per Mahcno, on Monday, May 3, at 4 p.m. . Mails for Chatham Islands close at Lyttelton, per Himitangi, on' Wednesday, May 5, at 2.45 p.m. I.ale letters for mails beyond the Dominion cannot in future be posted on tho steamer, but must bo posted in the lateletter posting box at the Chief Post Offico up to the appointed time shown on the mail notice. Tho advertised times for closing mails by steamers are liable to alteration (earlier or later) at any moment. The parcel post mail per Main Trunk express closes at the G.P.O. at 11.30 a.m., and for tho South per Ferry Steamer, at 645 p.m. Parcels for dispatch by steamers and trains, with the exception of the usual Ferry Steamers for Southern offices, close at the Ohief Post Office, Wellington, one hour beforo the advertised times of closing of mails. As tho la6t clearance of the Oity receivers is mado at 5.45 p.m. on Saturdays, all correspondence for the Sunday night Auckland express mu6t bo posted at the Chief Poet Offico not later than 8 p.m. on Sunday. The public are earnestly requested to register all letters containing money or valuables intended to be sent by post. All books and samplc-packcts and newspapers for places within tho Dominion must be posted half an hour beforo tho ordinary letter-mail closeß. All the principal mails by train and steamer close ut Te Aro and Courtenay Plaeo Post Offices at the same hours as at the Chief Post Office, with the exception that there is no late-fee clearance, and that mails by the ferry steamers for Southern Offices close at 5.45 p.m. Moils for ~nd and Auckland District per second Main Trunk Express close at Courtenay Place at 5.45 p.m. and Te Aro at 8 p.m. A.
