CONGRATULATIONS TO CANADA

PRIME MINISTER'S MESSAGE. The Prime Minister (tie Right Hon. •W. F. Massey) has dispatched the following telegram to the Prime Minister of the Dominion of Canada :— "Prime Minister, "Ottawa. "On behalf of the Government and people of New Zealand I desire to heartily congratulate Canada on the gallant Btand made by her troops in the recent Bovere fighting near Ypres. The men of the Overseas Dominions are proving themselves worthy scions of the old stock, which down through strenuous centuries has produced a strong and united Empire, whose bulwarks are liberty and freedom. New Zealand's sons at the front ire eager to have the opportunity .of fighting shoulder to shoulder with their Canadian brothers jn arms against our common foe, and in defence of our national honour. Our warmest sympathy goes out to the relatives of the brave men' who have fallen."—W. F. Massey, Prime Minister."
