Mails for Chatham Islands close at Lyttelton, per Himitangi, on Wednesday, May 6, at.3 p.m. . bate letters.for mails beyond tho Dominion cannot in future bo posted on the steamer, but must bo posted in the late-letter posting box at the Chief Post Office up to .the appointed time shown on tho mail noadvertised times for closing mails by steamers are liable' to alteration (earlier or Later) at any moment. The parcel post mail per Main Trunk express closes at tho 0.P.0. at 11.30 a.m., ond for the South per Ferry Steamer at 5.45 p.m. ' Parcels for dispatch by steamers and trains, with the exception of the usual Ferry Steamers for Southern offices, closo at the Chief Post Office, Wellington, ono hour before the advertised times of closing of mails. As tho last clcaranco of tho City receivers is made at 5.45 p.m. on Saturdays, all correspondence for Sunday night Auckland express must be posted at tho Chief Poet Office not later than 8 p.m. on Sunday. The public are earnestly requested to register all letters containing money or valuables intended to be sent by post.
