CHEESE V. BUTTER
' SPLIT AT PAHIATUA.
The mooting of shareholders of the Ballanoe Dairy Company, hold in Pahiatua on Thursday, to discuss the question of butter versus cheese, was extremely lively at times, while some of the speakers endeavoured to make lengthy statements to back up their opinions, especially those who favoured cheese. The decision, by ballot, which gave a largo majority against installing dual plant, means that the company will continue to manufacture butter. However, at Mangamutu the majority of tho suppliers to the Scarborough branch confirmed their previous decision to form a separate company for the manufacture of cheese. The meeting decided that tho disposal of any one or more of the branches be left to the discretion of the directors. At a subsequent meeting of the directors it was' decided not to sell the creamery at Scarborough.—Pahiatua correspondent.
