WOUNDED SOLDIERS' FUND

A preliminary announcement appears in our advertising columns of- the benefit carnival which is being promoted on' Saturday next and Monday, May 3, under tie joint auspice* of the Boxing Association,' Rugby Union, and Natives' Association. At a meeting held' last evening, those responsible for the various attractions reported that arrangements were all practically complete as far .as the Saturday afternoon items were concerned. Regarding the evening performance, it was decided to hold this in the Town Hall on- the Monday night, and- not on the Saturday night. .The City Council has agieed to aHow the use of the Town' Hall free of charge and there is every prospect 6i a most successful evening.
