LIVE STOCK SALES.
Messrs. W. and G. Turnbull and Co., Ltd.', report having held their usual weekly sale ill their' Waipoua (Ma6terton) sale yards on Wednesday. A good jardiug at sheep and cattle came forward, and was offered to a big attendance of buyers. Competition wa 8 ' fairly keen throughout the sale, and there was practically a clearance. Amongst our cattle entry we sold, on account Mr. Vivian Riddiford. Glenbunn, 8 fat cows at £9,. 53 forward etorc cows at £5 18s., and 14 store rows at £3 Bs. The pnoes realised were as 1 follow:—Fat ewes, 18s. 5d.; fat lambs, 16s. <od.; forward
etoro ewes, 12s. lOd. to 145.; medium, 10s., 10s. Id., to 10s. 7d.; poor, 7s. 6d.; 2 tooth \ wethers, medium, lis. 7d. to lie. fid.; poor, 9s. 8d.;'woolly lambs (poor), to. 9d.; shorn lambs, 13s. Bd.; B.F. lambs, 12s .7d.; 12s. 9d.. 12s. 10d., 135., to 13s. 4d.; medium, 10s. Id. to l l s Id. Cattle: Fat cows, £6, £6 Us., to £9: forward store corn, £5 186.; "tore cows, £2 •103. to £3 Bs.j 4-year bulloekß (good), £13 12s 6d.; 3-yoar steers, £8 175.; 2-year 6teers, £5 Is. to £5 65.; yearling steers, £3; weaner steers, 21b.; mixed weaaers, 12s. 6d. to 155.; 13-month heifers. In calf, £3 17s. 6d.; 2-year empty heifers; £2 13s. We also sold, on ~ account Belgian 'Belief Fund, 1 dog, donated by Mr. R. L. Langdon, .iun., which realised 305., and an aged gelding, donated by Mi'. K. Scott, for £1. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agcncy Company, Ltd., report—At Waikanae on Tuesday we had a fair yarding of sheep'and., a heavy yarding: of, oattle, and there was a satisfactory clearance at the following prioes:—Sheep: 4 and 6-tooth. to f-f.ni. ewes. ?os.; f.m. store ewes, 135., 6d;: Oattle; Fat'and' forward 3J ; year steers', £10'2s.;' 21-year steers, £6 'ss.;' yearling 6teers (Jersey colbnra), £2 2s. to £3 65.; mixed weavers, 33e.; etore cows, £4 Os. 6d.; dairy cows. £8 ss. to £8 15s.
