Three hundred Germans who were pushing their attack before our front were mowed down by machine-guns, none of them escaping. "At Bois Brule we have taken one of the enemy's trenches. London, April 9, 2.35 a.m. "Paris reports continued success by the Allies between the Meuso and the Moselle yesterday. In an infantry action in the Bois d'Eiatorville a German company wa6 destroyed. In the Bois,d'Ailly additional trenches were captured and counter-attacks repulsed. In the Bois de Montmare tho Frcnch gained a footing in the enemy's defensive works. "Summarising the resultsof the Allies' attacks during the last four days, the report points out the extensive gains in several places, • tho displacement of the Germans from, strong positions, the defeat of repeated violent attempts to regain these, and the formidable losses of German troops."
