(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) ™ ru Dunedln, March 23. lne Otago Rowing Association's regatta was held at Port Chalmers to-day in fine but somewhat ch lly weather, the water was as calm as a mill pond, But the attendance was not very large the results are:— , Youths' Fours.—Oamaru, No. 1, 1Otago, 2; Oamaru, No. 2, 3. Also started: Invercargill. Railway, Queen's Pnve, JNorth End, Port Chalmers. Invercargill RaiLva-ywon by half a length, but - were disqualified for. not keeping to the proper course. Time, 9min. 10 sec. • ' _ Maiden Double Sculls.—Avon. 1: Otago, 2; North End, 3. Also started; .Dunedin Amateur, Invercargill Railway, Queens Drive. Won easily by two lengths. Time, Bmin. 30sec Interprovincial Fours.—Southland, 1: OtagOj 2. A neck-and-neck race ensued to halfway, whore Otago caught the last of the ebb tide and swerved slightly off the course, this costing them about half a length. From then South-land:-maintained the lead, rowing a much quicker Stroke than Otago. With a few hundred yards to go, Otago shortened the distance, but Southland responding, staved off defeat, winning on exciting race by a canvas length. Time, 9min. 35sec. Junior Double Sculls.—North End, 1; Port Chalmers, 2; Invercargill Railway, 3. Also started: Avon, Dunedin Amateur, Otago. Won by a length. Avon finished second 1 , but were disqualified for not keeping to the proper course. Time, Bmin. 30sec. Maiden Fours.—Otago, 1. This event requires some explanation. When it tcok place early in the afternoon the competitors were Oamaru, North End, Pert Chalmers, and Dunedin Amateur. Oamaru beat North End. easily by two lengths, the time being 9min. 15sec. Later on it was intimated to the Judges that two other crews had prior to -the start sent word that they would compete, and asked for a few minutes' delay, but the messenger was blocked by a Territorial guard at the dock, and the intimation did not reach its destination, the race taking place without these would-be contestants. The race was rerowed at the end of the programme, and Otago were the only competitors to put in ,an appearance, and went over the course and "were declared the winners. Senior Double Sculls.—lnvercargill Railway, 1; Otago, 2. Otago led by a length, but went between the flag boat and the wharf, and were disqualified for not completing the proper course. Time, 7min. 45sec. Junior Fours.—Avon, 1; Invercargill Railway, 2; North End, 3. Also started : Oamaru, Otago. Won by a length and a- half. Time, Smin. 4osec. - Maiden Pairs. —North End, 1 ; Otago, 2; Dunedin Amateur, 3. Also started: North End. No. 2. Won by three lengths. Time, 9min. ssec Senior Fours. —Otago, 1; Invercargill Railway, -2; Port Chalmers, 3. Also started: Oamaru. AVon easily by three lengths Time, 7min. 35sec. t Youths' Pairs.—Otago, 1; Oamaru, 2; North End, 3. Also started: Port Chalmers, North End No. 2, Invercargill Railway No. 1. Won by a length. Light-weight Maiden Fours. —Otago, 1; North End, 2; Queen's Drive, No. 1, 3. Also started: Queei.'s Drive, No. 2. Won by two lengths and a half. Time, 7min. 40scc. Junior Pairs. —Avon, 1; Invercargill Railway, 2. Also started: North End, Otago. North End finished a length ahead of Avon, but as they did not turn the buoy the race was awarded to tho latter. Time, 9miu. Senior Pairs.—Otago, 1: InvercaTgill Railway, 2; Avon, 3. Aho started: North End. Won by about 4ft.
