Advice has been received, by the.local office of the Union Company stating that the Mocraka oleared Sydney for Welluigton direct at 1 P-m. on, Friday. She haa 73 saloon and 56 steerage jpasemeora and 6M tons of cargo on board for thia port. The Moeraki is expected to arrive at Wellington to-monow morning and will proceed on to Lyttelton and Dunedin on Wednesd*ty. She will withdraw the last-, mentioned port, and. her, plflxj© will be taken by the Mokoia. EASTER SERVICE ARRANGEMENTS. In addition to the alterations in the services published on Friday, the following arrangements have been made for the Eester travelling public:— ■ ■ ■ Monowai, due from Auckland on Tuesday, March. 30; sails same day for Lyttelton only. Mokoia, leaves Sydney on April 1 for Wellington (one day early); due here on April 5. NEW HARBOUR LIGHT. One of Wellington's new harbour lights was used for the first time on Friday night; This is the north beacon which has been erectcd on Hope Shoal, Ward Island. Tlio light is an occulting ono, and it has been installed for the purpose of aiding navigation uji the main ohannel from tho entrance, fl6 it. is in line wtth the occultr ing buoy in tho channel. The new beacon shows a ■white sector in tho clisnnel and red to clcar point HalsTvell. Up to tho present the light has -worked satisfactorily. MESS-TABLE GOSSIP. Mr. J.
