(Br Telegraph—Press Association.) ' ■ Qlsborne, January 26. A fire on. Sunday afternoon destroyed the stationery establishment of Thomas Adams, the whole stock being lost and tho premises gutted. The insurances on the buildings were £SQO. and on the stock £8000, - Auokland, January 26. i t A fira a,t Qreenlane destroyed a house ;oocupied by J. B. Young. It was insured in the South British Office for £450. ■
Westport, January 25. ~ ■ Mulholland's boardinghouse at Millertton was burnt down. The insurance ia |j£6so in the Commercial Union Office.
Napier, January 25. A ten-roomed dwelling at Poraite, ownetf by Mr. Dudley Hill and occupied iby Mr. H. S. Mitchell, was totally dejstroyed by fire yesterday. The outbreak originated in a grass fire, which could riot be. checked before it reached the 80U66. The insurance on the house was '£1000 and on the furniture £300, in the New Zealand Office.
Fire severely damaged Mr. F. Fanning 1 s seven-roomed residence at Oriental Bay early yesterday morning. The alarm was really given by a dog, who, frightened by the glare, commenced to (bark. This aroused the neighbours, (who gave the alarm to the Fire Brigade, ■who very soon appeared on the scene. /Under difficult circumstances, for the |house is situated well up the hill, the (brigade soon, got to work, and extinguished the flames after the house had teen, severely damaged and the coh.tents destroyed. The occupier' is on ihis way back from Auckland, and there was no one in the house at.the time. Fhere was an insurance policy for £600 Dn the house and £200 on the contents, both in the British Dominions' Company.
