CRICKET WELLINGTON ASSOCIATION. Mr. C. G. Wilson presided at last nignt's meeting of ' the Wellington Crictet Association, and there were also presont: Messrs. M. J. Crombie, A<. E. Wilson, F. M. Martin, H. Burton, F. Midlane, and E. M. Beechoy. Messrs. J. P. Luke, A. Salt, M. Myers, and J. F. Atkins were elected honorary members of the association. Advice was received of the defection of two of the four teams engaged in the suburban division of the third-class competition, and the committee in charge of the competition asked for a direction as to future. action. It was decided that the .suburban competition should cease., and that, if the two remaining, suburban teams (Petone A and St. David's) desired to continue cricket, they should be offered fixtures in town with the teams--engaged in the town division, commencing on January 30. To decide the winner of the suburban competition, the points already scored will be added to the points engaged in future matches against , town teams. The final of the third-class championship will be, as previously arranged, between the winners of the suburban competition and the winners of the town competition. The Wanganui Cricket Association wired to the effect that tEey would not be able to .get a team together to visit Wellington, and the Southland Cricket Association also advised tha.t they would have to forego the proposed northern tour on account of the war. In consequence of a complaint received as to , the delays in starting play in representative matches, it was decided to request the New Zealand - Cricket Council to frame proposals regulating time of starting for all inter-provincial matches. '. . A change of dates for the match to be played against the Hawke'.s Bay team in Wellington was suggested,. and_ it was resolved to ask the Hawke s Bay Association to agree to Saturday andMonday, February 13 and 15, instead of Friday and Saturday, February 12 and 13, play to commence at 11 a.m. each day.
