THE MISSING TRAWLER REQUEST FOR "FURTHER SEARCH. Melbourne, January 12. The Minister of Customs (Mr. Tudor) baa requested the Premier of Tasmania (Mr. John Earle) to charter a steamer to join in the search for the missing trawler Endeavour. ITEMS INBRIEF BOILERMAKERS' DISPUTE. Sydney, January .12. The Boilermakers' Society has agreed to the resumption of the sittings of the Wages Board. The Boilermakers' Society was the first to break into open revolt against Judge Heydon'B recent judgment precluding unions from obtaining increased wages during the war. The boilermakers resolved, owing to.Judge Heydon's.action in suspending the sitting of the Wages Board, to give the employers notice that they would not work under present conditions and raten of wages after January 14. MR. TREFLE'S FUNERAL. (Rec. January 12, 9.40 p.m.) Sydney, January 12. The late Mr. Trefle's funeral was largely attended. TRIBAL FIGHtInThE ISLANDS SIX NATIVES KILLED. (Reo. January 12, 11.15 p.m.) Sydney, January 12. News from the Islands states that a tribal fight between bush and coastel natives took place on the Island of Malaita, and that six were killed. The coastal natives were defeated, and fled. AFTERNOON SHIFT IN MINES THE NEW SOUTH WALES TROUBLE (Rec. January 12, 9.40 p.m.) Sydney, January 12. A conference of colliery proprietors and the Employees' Federation is discussing the afternoon shift question, in private. It is understood that the proprietors are offering additional payment for the working shift, but are opposed to its abolition.
