MEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP SINGLES
AVON BY SWANSTON. _ A final in connection with the Wellington Provincial Lawn Tennis Association's tournament was played at the Thorndon Club's courts yesterday. The event was tho Men's Metropolitan Championship Singles, in .which R. N. K. Swanston (Thorndon) met Wright (Auckland). .'• From start to finish the visitor was unable to extend Swanston, who won comfortably, 6—3, 6—3.
