MANUKA FROM SYDNEY. According to advices received by the local office of the Union Company on. Saturday, the Manuka soiled from Sydney for Wellington direct at 5 p.m. the previous day. She has 63 saloon and 91 steerage passengers on hoard. Her cargo includes 741 tons for Wellington, 316 for Lyttelton, 92 for Dunedin, and 19- for the Bluff. The Manuka is duo in port at about 9 a.m. to-morrow. MAITAI ARRIVES AT 'FRISCO, Private advices Teceived in Wellington state that the Union Company's steamer .Mattel arrived at San Francisco from Wellington, via Island ports, on Friday, December 4—two days late. She will leave the Californlan port on. the Teturn journey on December 9, being duo at Wellington on December 31. ' After having been laid up at Sydney for several weeks, on account of trouble with her firemen, the Union Company's turbine steamer Maheuo is announced to leave Sydney for Auckland on Wedneeday next, December 9. She returns to Sydney from the northern port on December 14. As the Huddart-Parker eteamer Biverina will not arrive at Auckland from Sydney till this morning she will not leave on the return trip till noon to-morrow.

The Richardson steamer Koutunui, which was recently aehore on the East Coast, was to have vacated the Patent Slip at Port Ahuriri on Saturday. She will, not visit Wellington for some time. Weather conditions on the West Coast having improved, the Government steamer Hinemoa left Wellington for Kahurangi Point Light, Bruce Bay, Greymouth, and UKarito on Saturday morning.
