Dean Regnault, S.M., ex-Provincial of; the Manst Order of New Zealand, visited-the Ancient, Order of Hiberniani. in Ireland towards the end of October, to convey to the national secretary, on behalf of the Hibernians of New Zealand, and especially of the Wellington division (of whicli Dean Regnault is chaplain), the congratulations to their fellow-Hiberni-ans, the Irish Party, and the Nationalists generally of Ireland, on the success achieved in having the Some Rule Bill placed on the Statute Book. : Mr. Robert Duncan, Chief Inspector of Machinery for tlie Government, has returned from a. sis weeks' holiday, spent in Australia. The mauy friends of Mr. W.- A. Gibb, manager at Sydney of the National Insurance Company, will hear with regret of the trauden death of his wife there on Thursday morning. Major P. R. Fordham, of the 4th Otago Regiment, and Major E. White, N.Z.E., >ave left-Dunedin.to join the Third Expeditionary Force, now being assembled. Dr. P. Stewart, late house surgeon of the Dunedin Hospital, has passed his F.R.C.S. (Edinburgh) with credit. Mr. R. P. Collins, of Brougham Street, a resident 'of Wellington since 1642,' is seriously, indisposed.
