BIBLE-IN-SCHOOLS' PETITION.
Sir, —Professor Mackenzie bas shown to mo that the way petition '565 was placed and described on tho Order Paper was not duo to the Schools Defence League. I thcreforo desire to exonerate the league from any blame in this connection. I am satisfied that the league' acted in good faith, and any implication to tho contrary is negatived by the evidence which has come to my hands this week. —I am, etc., B. L. THOMAS. • On page 26 of the pamphlet, under tho beading, "Finance, clause 5, the following significant paragraph occurs: — "Capitation receivable from- organisations belonging to both the United Federation of Labour and the Social Democratic Party shall entitle all organisations for which payment is made to all the rights and privileges of membership in all local delegate bodies in the Social' Democratio-Party."
