Doylo applied to sublet Section 64, Block VIII, Belmont, 5 aorei 1 rood 35 poles, to C. Nach, on a weekly tenancy, at a rental of 11s. 6d. a week, and it was resolved to approve. P. Evans applied for leave of absence for twelve months from. Section 5, Block lII,' Waipakura, 1135 acres, and it was resovod to approve. . ■ The Wairarapa Farmers' Co-operative Association, Ltd., applied for an exteu. sion ■of time in which to complete the conversion to freehold of Section 52, Blocks X.'XIV, and Parts 885,.886, 896, 97, Block XIV, Rewa, 1815 acres.—lt was resolved to postpone the matter till next mooting. • GROUPING PROPOSALS. With reforonce to the proposal to group sections in Mangaweka- North: Township with a view to disposal.in suitable lots,, which was the subject of- a ■ resolution passed at the.previous meeting, the Com--miss-ioner advised that special legislation would bo necessary to give effect to some of the recommendations. It .was resolved to refer the matter to the ranger for modification' of the proposals" accordingly. T. S. Fagg applied to transfer Section. 4, Block XV, Horopito' West Township (1 acre 32} perches), to the Wanganui Education Board, which wants it for a schoolmaster's residence. It wae resolved that if the Education Board purchases the lessee's interest in the section And improvements the board will accept a surrender of the lease and recommend a sale of the land to the Education Board under Section 140 of tho Land Act, 1908, at Who original value.

It was resolved to reoffer the following sections as second-class land, under Part 111 of tie Land Act,. 1908:-Section 5, Block XI, Whirinaki, 1576 acres; Section 6, Block XI, Whirinaki, 745 acres. . The lease of Lot 3, Section 116, Palmer6ton North, township, 23.3" perches, nothaving been taken up when offered on February 4, last, it was ■ resolved to reduce tlie rental to ,£6 per annum, as recommended by the ranger, and, to reoffer the lease on the same terms as before. - CHURCH AND OTHER PROPERTY. A. Peters applied for a permit to effect improvements, witlhi protection for. same," on an area of 91 acres ocoupied by him in Waioura Township "Reserve," and it iwas resolved to grant permission to do bo without compensation, provided ho follows the proper rotation of cropping, viz., two grain crops, one root crop,- thon grass for threa years, also to be allowed to fence with the right of removal or to receive compensation ■ therefor. The Presbyterian Church Property /Trustees applied, for, Reckon 1, ..Block XIII, Owhango Township, 1 rood, as a site for a church, and it was resolved to recommend the sale for cash, under Soc'tion 140 of tho Land Act,. 1908, at the price of .£75. Nine settlers in Blocks VII and VIII, Huima, applied for their sections to be declared a special road district, under Section 50 of the Land Laws Amendment Act, 1913. It was resolved to recommend the Minister of Lands to constitute the special district. . . . Nine .settlers in Blooka IV, Betariike. II Owatua, I II Kaitieke, VII VIII IX Hunua, applied for their sections to be similarly declared, and it was resolved to recommend as above. Thirteen settlers in Blocks I II IV.VIII and IX Hunua applied for their sections to bo similarly declared,'ajid' it was resolved to recommend as above. The Manunui Town Board'applied to hypothecate thirds from three sections in the town, district, in reduction of specialrates levied as security for & loan, and it ivas resolved to approve. SOME COUNTY COUNCIL MATTERS. The Pohangina County Council applied for halves of royalties from timber, J3192 11s. 4d., to bo expended in construction of two bridges over Pohangina River at Piripiri Crossing and Diggers Creek, and it was resolved to .approve' The Ohakune Borough Council submitted proposals for expenditure of .£4O 4s. Zd.-.-accrued thirds, and it was resolved to approve provided the ranger's report is 1 , favourable, and so far as the amount at credit will allow.

The Undcr-Secretary advised that with a view of specially encouraging production of wheat nnd other food supplies during tho coming year, Crown tenants aro to l>B released from the restrictions regarding (lie croprjings of their holdings during a -period of 12 months from date.
