To an audience that packed the Sailors' Friend Society's Institute to the doors last evening, Miss Petherick gavo a programme of patriotfc s music. The prizes donated for the competitions were contested with spirit. They went in the organ solo, to H.M.N.Z.T. 7. and in-solos,to. H.M.N..T. 9, and R.M.S. Remuera. Mr. Moore announced from tho chair that hundreds of "housewives" had been presented to tho crows, but more were required, and that he hoped the Wellington people would' send in these gifts to the ships which were carrying tho troops to Europe. He ' mentioned ,that friends were arranging a big gathering for Friday. During the evening Mr. Nicholson, a member of tho crew ol H.M.N.Z.T. 4, presented, a painting of tho ship, which ho had painted in his spare moments. Tho performers wore the Misses Petherick, Harmer, Miller, and Messrs. Howitt, Ha'ndlyn, Thompson, Boyd, Parsons. Petherick, Heenan (The Falcon). Osborn (R.M.S. Remuera), Chapman (R.M.S. Remuera), and Power (H.M.N.Z.T. 9). .
