BIG GUN SHOOTING
ANNUAL PRACTICE AT FORTS. It has 'been decided to hold the annual course of instruction of the GarrisonArtillery .Companies next week, thus taking advantage of the fact ithat the men are on duty at the forts. The shooting will extend over a fortnight. The practice will count in each .case as the annual practice for the current year, but no classification awards will ho made in regard to : classification of companies and awards of efficiency shields and cups. The dates of the big-gun practice are as follow: — Wellington: August 26, 27, 28, and 31, and September 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10. ■ , Auckland: September 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 7, 8,.9, 10,11, 12, 13, 14, IS, and 16. ' Lyttelton: August 31 and September 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9. ■ Otago: August 31 and September 1, % 3, 4, 5,. 6, 7, 8, and 9.
