Mr. Hebenton, organising secretary to,the Wairarapa Farmers' Union, who' 'attended the meeting of the Wellington Provincial Branch here on Thursday, said that the donations to the Farmers' ;Union -War Fund' now' totalled £10,000 and , 150 horses.- A. Wilson, the Dominion president, in a letter of gratitude for tho readj , response to tho union's , appeal, said -that the ready .support which had been shown in the provisioning of horses, and especially the splendid gifts which in the Wellington province amounted to nearly the .whole amount required, was simply beyond praise. The Advisory Board, Mr. Wilson added, contemplated arranging, a date.for tho dispatch of sheep aM produce, which many farmers dosirod to donate. Mr. H. J. Richards has been appointed provincial organiser, and will be provided with a motor-car. During the meeting it-was stated that a Ma'rton farmer had, given 50 acres for wheatgrowing. Neighbouring'farmers will do the work, and seed and manure will bo given. The proceeds will go to the relief, of Britain's poor, and are estimated at £500. It was decided to ask if the Government will supply seed for other similar undertakings. ~.'"'
