Shipowners and Shipping Agents , will notify the Chief Examining Officer, tho Harbourmaster, in advance, tho pro-i . bable time of arrival and description of , thoir vessels, iri order to facilitate recognition by the Examining Officer.' EXAMINATION STEAMER &■ SIGNALS INDICATING WHETHER. PORT IS OPEN OR CLOSED. .' - is All vessels desirous of entering the • Port with the exception of H.M. Ships, " Fleet Auxiliaries, and Array Transports,' will proceed to- the Examination- Anchorage. Here they will bo met by the Examination steamer. This steamer may •be recognised as follows:—By day: 'A blue ensign, and at tho foremast head tho special pilot flag (white and red horizontal •'• surrounded by a bluo border). , When the port is closed, three red balls vertically in addition. BY NIGHT: Three lights vertically, 6ft. apart, conspicuously, displayed at the end of a yard so as to show an unbroken light round the horizon. When the port is closed these lights will be red, when it is open they will-be white. In addi- , tion to the signals, on the .examination steamer, when the Port-is,closed, similar signals will be shown at the Signal Station Beacon Hill.' EXAMINATION ANCHORAGE. ". . 5. The Examination Anchorage is in Worser Bay, as slown on the Admiralty Cluirt. . ... ' While at this anchorage vessels ' will not communicate with the shore,' lower any boat, or change their position without the permission, of the Examining Officer. .. • ■ PERMISSION TO PROCEED INWARDS FROM THE EXAMINATION ANCHORAGE. ...-,' i G.
