Berne advised the Telegraph - Office that the European lines are interrupted between Enideri and Berlin. The Eastern Extension Cablo Company advises that until further notice telegrams in code for British North Borneo cannot be accepted unless addressed.,to,;.the Governor. All cable messages, inwards or'outwards, must. : .bo , written in plain Jan-i guage (English or French): No'such telegrams containing code or cypher words are accepted. ■ Cable meswges for Great Britain and Ireland must-be in plain . language (English or French), and' sußject to censorship. Code and cypher prohibited. Radio-telegrams cannot be accepted for ships in territorial waters of Great Britain. Censorship established on all traffic at Bermuda and Jamaica. Messages for Franco or via France must bo in one plain language. Mixed languages and code .and cypher, prohibited.': All messages subject to censorship. Messages for and through Russia,,must be in plain language (Russian, French, English or permau).—Telegraph Office. , Wellington. It is understood that inward Press cablegrams that have already passed tliecensors at the other end. will not bo affected:by censorship in New Zealand. Great ; delav, was noticeable to-day in receipt of Press messages from London. Some took as long ■ as eight hourej whereas one day last week ono came through in a few minutes. No doubt attributable in part at least to institution of censorship. Supervision is also being* exercised over ordinary domestic telegrams -in the Dominion. The greatest hardship -will probably be felfc from the pffect theabolition of code messages will'have on money, transactions by cable. . Instances of this occurred even yesterday.
