Chaytor, the present commander of tlio Wellington district, who has been appointed Adjutant-Gen-eral, in succession to Lieut.-Colonel Collins, who , is returning to England, will take up his. new duties as from July 16. Major F. E. Johnston, North Staffordshire Regiment, who has been appointed to the command of tlio Wellington district for one year, as from July 16, has been - granted the temporary rank.of colonel, Colonel Johnston is a son of the Hon.
