MEETING OF THB BOARD. Mr. A. do B. Brandon presided at. yesterday's meeting of the Board of Governors of Wellington College and tho Girls' High School There were also present: Messrs. W. H. P. Barber, W. F. Ward, \V. H. Field, and J. P. Luko. According to tho financial statement,,, tlie credit balance, at the hank was £61 3s. 6d., while cash in hand amounted to £13 Is. Id. Payments were required as follow: —Wellington College. £691 3s. lid., and Girls' College £-419 10s. Id. Feos outstanding (first term) wero shown as £'233S Bs. li'kl,, and rente outstanding £219 18s, lOd. Mr. F. Pentv, architect, forwarded estimates for 12 chains of fencing ttt tho Girls' High Sehool. The different estimates were as follow: —Wood and corrugated iron, £282; light, ferrc-coH-crete, £547; brick waif, £542; and brick wall with iron rail £800. It was decided to ask Mr. Polity to furnish a design of the brick wall for consideration at nest meeting. Messrs. Thomson, Levis, • and . Co. wrote in reforenco to tlio leasa or their premises in Tory Street. ■ It was decided that the firm lie granted a further lease of the placo on suitable term's. On account of the non-attendance _ot the mover, consideration of a 'motion standing in tho name of Mr. R. Leo was postponed. Tho motion read as follows"That, with tho view of lessening the competition in school work, tho grants of monoy for school prissos. usually made" by the Governors (ami last year amounting to £95 3s. 7d.) be discontinued."
