Y.M.C.A. OLD BOYS' CLUB
A social re-union hi connection with tho Y.M.C.A. Old Boys' Club was held in tho' Y.M.C.A. Rooms on Tuesday evening. The gathering was called to open the season's work, and also to welcome Messrs. V. Drew, C. Atkinson, mid G. AV. Adair (Y.M.C.A. Boys' Work Director, Auckland), who have rendered yeoman service in the past. There was a very large gathering, and tho utmost enthusiasm prevailed undor tho presidency of Mr. J. G. Port. Tho following contributed musical items:—Messrs. W. Jennings (pianoforte solo), M. Hodge (Clarinet solo), J. -Lennox (song), and H. Patchett (recitation). During tho evening opportunity was taken by Mr. Vernon''Drew, who a few years ago was on the association's staff, and until recontlv general secretary in Ballarat. to thank tho club for having elected him as honorary leader of the club. Mr. Drew has bad much experience in this class of work, and under his able leadership the _ department should more than maintain tho traditions of tho past.
