The ninth and final round,of tho senior mid-weok competition was concluded oir the Basiu Eeservo yesterday afternoon. The wickots were in capital order, but the'tatting all. through , was . very poor. In tho first innings of Oriental tho only player who, reached double figures was Mastors, while Artillery lost five wickots for'l6. For Rivals there .were-only-two scorers of any consequence— (ieorgo (33) and "Mr. Extras". (24). Per/contra, of course, sonio fine bowling performances were put up, tho. prominent trundlors being Smith (Artillery), Cording,' Beard, ■ M'Girr,' and Dempsey. ' : ' . Tho Artillery-Oriental match resulted in a win for tho former by 61 runs. Artillery had a load of 153 runs on the first innings,' but instead of making Oriental follow on, thoy decided to bat, and, after losing five wickets for 18 runs, closed their innings.
