Farthing) has denounced women's afternoon gatherings, and the practice of women dancing and dressing shamelessly as young girls. He found that the worst, examples were amongst those of the higher strata of society. Some girls, ill-affording it, spent more on clothes than a clergyman's wholo salary; ' ' ■
