MEMORY OF ITS DISCOVERER HONOURED. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright San Francisoo, September 25 A festival celebrating Balboa's discovery of tho Pacific has been inaugurated. Wireless messages notified all Pacific vessels within a certain radius to dip their flags in honour of the explorer's memory. Vasco Jlunez Balboa, tho discoverer of the. Pacific Ocean, was a Spanish soldier who wont to America with an expedition. Ho first saw tho Pacific on September 25, 1513, his view being from a high mountain, which ho had. reached after considerable difficulty. PROBLEMS OF TO-DAY. ' Melbourne, September 26.
