MORE CASES IN AUCKLAND. (By, Teloffraph.—J?rca3 Association.) Auckland, September 26. Four fresh cases of the epidemic havo '"lioen moved to the Isolation Hospital at I'oint Chevalier. Up to this tho city and suburbs had remained i'reo from tho epidemic for eight days. One of tho children, a boy, dovoloped a rash about a fortnight ago, but no liotico was taken oi tho mattor, his parents b-.\.ng under tho impressiou that his disease w)is nothing serious. Fourteen days after tho development of the boy's rash tho father, who is a cook, ' was attacked in a similar, through moro serious, manner. A doctor was called in to attend to the father, and ho ituhicdiatoly diagnosed his caso as a mild 'form'of-smallpox. Tho rash was just appearing in two of tho other .children, and accordingly tho .father and tho tlireo children were dispatchod .to Point G'hovalier. Every precaution was taken by tho authorities to prevent tho disease from spreading further. Dr. H. E. Finck, in chargo. of tho Auckland district, remarked that tho now cases, with tho possiblo exception of the father, wore of a very mild typo, "ho origin of the new cases, ho said, was bo far untraceable. Six cases were reported from Ahipara, S, gum-digging settlombnt on tho wost soast in tho far north.
