That committee, after detailing the contract which exists between tlio National Dairy Association, and tho New Zealand and Shaw, Savill and Albion Steamship Companies, says:— "With regard to exporters who are not members of tho National Dairy Association, your committee finds that theso firms have always been granted the right to ship under the contract at tho rates of freight stipulated in tho contract, and in tho ovent of any exporter purchasing dairy produce, it may be consigned from n grading port cither to tho ship or to the exporter himself; the shipping companies paying coastal freight and Wellington transhipping charges. a "For the convenience of tho shipping Companies tho booking in terms of tho oontraet is made by t.lie National Dairy Association. The shipping companies state, however, that other exporters may book space, and ship at tho rates of freight provided for in tho contract, but ample notice would, of course, bo needed of their requirements. "Your committee is informed that in no case has produco shipped by exportera. not members of tho National Dairy Association, been shnit out, while nt times produce booked by the association has been shut out.
