MR, SHIRER'S SILVER JUBILEE. About 200 members and ndherents oi! • St. James's Church (Presbyterian) assembled in the church schoolroom on, Monday opening for tho purpose of maly ing a presentation of a suite of furnituro to the Rev. J. Shiror, iii commomoration of his twenty-fifth anniversary as minister | of the church'. Tho Rev. James, l'aterson occupied the chair, and after siring a brief history of tho progress of the church, asked tho Rev. II r. Shiror, 011 behalf of tho congregation, to accept tho presentation in honour of his "silver jubilee." The.chairman said tho ladies of tho congregation were deserving of very lieaitv thanks for tho way ip. which they had worked to bring about such a very pleasant social gathering. Mr. Shiror made a fitting reply. During an interval items were contributed by Messrs. Male, Armstrong, 1 atcliett, Chambers, and Recliio. -At "'0 close refreshments were Jianded round py the ladies. '
