J. Itiddiford (olt'ered in coiyunction with the New Zealand Loan aud Mercantile Agoncy Oo„ Ltd.). and every pen was cleared under the hammer at very satisfactory prices. Sheep: CitU empty ewes, 6s. Id. to fo. 10d.; medium do., 9s. 7d. to 10s. 2d.; fat and forward ewes, 14s. 6t1.; fat wethers, 19s. 7d. 'Cattle: Springing heifers, £7 65.. £7 17s. 6d. to'£B 10s.; medium fat heifers, and cows, £5 10s.; store cows, £2 12s. 6d„ £2 17s. 6d„ to £3 ss. On account estate of late 11. J. Riddiford: Rising three-year Shorthorn bullocks, £6 18s.; three-year Hereford bullocks, £7 65.; three and a half-year P.A. bullocks, £7 16s. 6d.; coming four-year Shorthorn bullocks, £8 IDs., £8 12s. 6d., to £8 13s. Dalgoty and Co., Ltd., report:— At our Upper Hutt sale on Thurday we offered a medium yarding of sheep and a good yarding of cattle. Tho demand for sheep vro.3 very keen, and wo disposed of all lines under tho hammer at satisfactory prices. The demand for cattle has slackonod off somewhat from last sales, with tho exception of dairy cows, which sold readily under tho hammer. We quote tho following prices:—Fat ewes, to 18s.; fat wethere, 17s. 2d. to £1 Is. 3d.; fat lambs, to- 13g. 9d.; two-year heifers, to £3 ; springing hoifers. £6 to £7; springing cows, £4, £5 7s. 6d„ £6 10s. to £7.153.; cows at drop. £8 10s„ £9. to £12; poor 6tore cows, £1 3s. to £1 Kfl. Buyers were present from outside distvicts and bidding was brisk, as tho bullocVe, which were all of good quality, elicited keen competition, and sold well. Quotations: Sheep—Dull ewes, in lamb, 95.; store ewes, 10s. to lis. 9d.: medium hoggets, Bs. 3d. to 9s. 3d.; small hoggete, 6s. fid.
