CUSTOMS FRAUDS.
MOTOR-CAE SHIPMENTS TO AUSTRALIA. ■ By Telegraph— Press Association—Copyright London, June 25. Ralph Millburn,' Walter John Kemsley, Edward WilliaiA Idle, Bruce Anthony Cuthbertson, and Alfred Edward Kemsley were summoned at the Bow Street Police Court with, conspiring with Raymond Ewart Ivemsley, William Crowle, Cecil Thomas Bray, Charles Brown Kellow, Isaac Phizackerley, and others to demand his Majesty's Customs of duty on motorcars, cycles, tires, and accessories imported into Australia by; means of false invoices and declarations. The frauds occurred between January, 1905, and June 1910. Mr. Marshall Hall, in supporting the summons on behalf off tho- : Australian Government, said that an enormous amount of detailed wo:rk was involved in connection with the case. Mr. Bodkin, who is defending, said that the defendant's books a;nd letters "had been in the hands of tho prosecution for three years, and he would require a considerable time to prepare the defence. One of the defendants, Alfred Kemsley, was too ill to attendi, and it was arranged that tho case should bo opened on July IS, and' thereafter. bo adjourned until after tho Long 'Vacation.
