The Public Service Commissioners yesterday supplied a reporter with the following showing the number of officers in tho Departments indicated whom it is proposed to retire this year, or early next year:—Lands and Survey Department, 5 officers; Official Assignee's office, t officer; Labour Department, 1; Land and Incomo Tax Department, 1; Inspection of Machinery Department, 1; Public Service Superannuation Offico, 1"; Police Department, 1; Customs Department, 3 officers; Internal Affairs Department, 14: Stamps Department, 1 officer; Public Works Department, 1; Government Insurance Department, 1 officers; total, 34.
