(, THE CIVIL CASES. LANDLORD'S. CLAIM, ON TENANT. Bobt. J. Gillespie sued Frank Morton for £5 lis. Gel., being cost of damages to a house lately occupied by the defendant, and Jil 55., bring one week's rent. Defendant had paid J6l into Court, and disputed the balance. He also contended that 110 terminated the tenancy m tlio usual manner. The Magistrato gave judgment for plaintiff for £3 2s. Gd., including one week's rent, and costs amounting to <£2 lCs. JUDGMENT SUMMONS. J. Stevens was ordered to pay Dr. H. A. de Latour tho sum of <£4 19s. before July 10. THE POLICE CASES. Yesterday's sitting of tho Magistrate's Court was presided over by Mr. W. G. Riddell, S.M. Win. Lavars was charged with insobriety, with resisting Constablo O'Donoghue, whilst in the execution of his duty, and with wilfully damaging a pano of glass valued at 12s. fid., the- properly of Walter Dolman. On the first charge he was convicted and discharged. On the second offence he was fined -10s., and costs iis., and on the third he was ordered to pav the costs of the damaged glass (12s. (id.'). Walter Graham and David Leckie were each fined 10s. for committing a .breach of tho' peace in Chews Lane. For insobriety, James Thompson was lined 405.; Alexander Thompson was fined 205.; and Florence M'Analley, ss.
