WESTERN HUTT ELECTORS.

The annual general meeting of the Western Hutt Electors' Association was hold ill fho Alicctown Schoolroom on Friday evening. Mr. occupied the chair, and there ivas a good attendance. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year:—President, Mr. M'Doucall; vice-president, Re.v. Mr. Gibson, Mfffrs. E. Peary, J. T. Scott; secretary, Mr. W. M'asterson (rc-elected) ; treasurer, Rev. Mr. Gibson; committee, Messrs. Mau'.e, Anderson, A. Freeman, Pine. Sheppard, Taylor, Fredinnick. Pees, Savage, and Dickey- The report and bal-ance-sheet were adopted. It was resolved to instruct the association's representatives on the Hutt Borough Council to urge the matter of obtaining an expert engineer's report on the question of surface drainage in Alicetmvn. It was decided to request, the Hutt Paver Board to strengthen tho concrete wall in Tama. Street, and to clean out the lagoon adjoining White's I.ine so as to mitigate flood water during the u;inter. Several new members were elected.. A. public meeting will bo held in Petone on Monday next, when Councillor Townsend will deliver an address 011 the disfranchisement of Civil Servants. Tli 0 Petone Rowing Club have received donations of debentures of £1b from the president, Mr. A. Saunders, and ,£5 from the patron, Jfr. R. Mothcs. A start will be made this morning with the Petone sewage scheme. A gang of men will be put on constructing the septic tank on the old sanitary depot site.
