MASTERTON COUNCIL.
(By Teleirranh.—Special Corresoondcnt.! Mastcrton, May 7. The Mastorton Borough Council decided to-night to revert to the committee system, and; set. up three separate comwittees to iln.l with works and finance, park and libraiy, gas and abattoirs. The council declined to endorse a resolution of tho Woodville Borough Council in reference to a tax 011 motor-cars. The Mayor and Messrs. Ewington and O'Leary were appointed to represent tho council on the Fire Board. This being the first meeting of tho new council, tho Mayor (Mr. J. M. Coradinc) extended a hearty welcome to the new councillors, which was duly acknowledged.
